Picture Book Editing & Illustration

I have a complete draft of a children’s picture book written for the 4–6 age range and now need help polishing the words and bringing the story to life visually. I’d like one creative partner who can both refine the manuscript and deliver a cohesive set of illustrations so the text and art evolve together. The text needs a light to moderate edit—grammar, flow, page turns, and age-appropriate vocabulary—while respecting the voice already on the page. For artwork, I’m planning on roughly 11–20 full-colour illustrations that match the rhythm of the story and capture the curiosity and energy typical of early readers. Bright, expressive characters, clear emotions, and simple backgrounds that won’t distract from the narrative are the goal. Deliverables • Edited manuscript returned with tracked changes and a clean, final copy • 11–20 print-ready illustrations (300 dpi CMYK) supplied as layered PSD or vector plus flattened PNG/JPG • If possible, a front-and-back cover layout merged with the final art into a single print-ready PDF Please keep the illustration style consistent across all pages and balanced with the word count so each spread feels purposeful. I’m open to your suggestions on colour palette, character design, and layout order, and will provide the manuscript and any reference sketches once we agree on the collaboration approach.
